What I’ve come to realize after having done multiple re-design efforts, is how deeply involved teams become, since they’ve been building the product for quite some time, but also there’s been client/customer/user engagement that has shaped the experience as is. However, as a Design Professional, the task at hand, should not be solely based on improving the User Experience. It should be also on inserting a level of Innovation, Desirability, Credibility, and leverage insights acquired from comparing trends, competitors (both direct and indirect), and finally making a decision that converges all these different factors. Designers, now more than ever, should be cognizant of the multitude of factors that permeate across the Design Thinking process, and use them to enrich the experiences that are being created.
