This is an extremely interesting case study and the solution seeking process is really well structured. Since this is a problem that crosses multi layered demographics, cultures and relies heavily on infographics, I personally think the readability, hierarchy of elements is sufficiently structured, though I’d add that for elements such as “You are here” and static/relevant points of interest, it would be interesting to consider the utilization of different visual cues for emphasis (that can be materialized in differentiating visual elements such as boxes, backgrounds, typography indentation, anything that brings some attention/focus to those same elements). The challenge in these types of problems is figuring out solutions that are usable and useful, while making something that transcends so many users and journeys.
