My Favorite Reads of 2022
--
Following my list of 2021, here are the books I read throughout the year which resonated with me the most. All their narratives are quite different and unique. But they all are a testament to the talent of storytelling, and being able to humanize behaviors, complexities of the human nature, and do so with a mix of humor and drama.
Hope this gives some ideas on what to read next (artwork illustrated below belongs to their authors and publishers).
Anita Brookner, Hotel Du Lac
Andrew Sean Greer, The Story of a Marriage
Elizabeth Taylor, Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont
Amitav Ghosh, Sea of Poppies
Karen Joy Fowler, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves
Monica Ali, Brick Lane
Mark Harris, Mike Nichols, A Life
Elon Green, Last Call
Patrick DeWitt, French Exit
Alison Lurie, Foreign Affairs
Stephen King, The Stand
David Mitchell, The Bone Clocks
